Retaining wall services

What we build

Whatever your slope and soil call for, we build the right wall in Langley and across the Fraser Valley. Stone, brick, rock, or block, laid by a mason.

Why homeowners call us

A wall is only as good as the mason who builds it

Anyone can stack stone. Building a wall that still stands straight in twenty years takes a tradesperson who understands soil, water, and how stone actually carries a load.

  • Built by a real mason

Your wall is laid by a Red Seal mason, not subbed out to a landscaping crew that learned on the job. Stone and brick are what we do.

  • Drainage done right

Most walls fail because water had nowhere to go. We build proper footings and drainage behind every wall so it lasts.

  • Locally owned

We live and work here. We know the soil, the slopes, and the weather, and we're around to stand behind the work.

  • Licensed and insured

Fully insured and WorkSafeBC covered. Engineering and permits arranged when a wall's height calls for it.

  • Stone, brick, rock, or block

We're not tied to one product. We build the wall that suits your property, your soil, and your budget.

  • Honest, straight answers

If a repair will do, we'll say so. If it needs a rebuild, we'll tell you why. No upselling, no runaround.

How it works

From a steep slope to a finished wall

No surprises, no runaround. Here's exactly how a project goes.

  3. 3

    Footing & drainage

The hidden work first: excavate, compact a proper footing, and build in the drainage that makes a wall last.

  4. 4

    Build & finish

We lay the wall by hand, cap it, restore the grade, and leave your property clean. Then we stand behind the work.

Common questions

What kind of retaining walls do you build?

Masonry walls: mortared natural stone, brick, armour stone and boulder walls, and reinforced concrete block or segmental walls. We're a mason, so stone and brick are our specialty, but we build the right wall for your site.

How tall can a retaining wall be?

We build walls of all heights. Once a wall passes about a metre, or holds a load like a driveway, it usually needs an engineer's design and a permit. We arrange both so it's done by the book.

Why do retaining walls fail?

Almost always water. When water builds up behind a wall with no drainage, the pressure pushes it over. That's why we put as much work into the footing and drainage as the stone you see.

Do I need a permit for a retaining wall in Langley?

Lower garden walls usually don't, but taller or load-bearing walls do, and the rules vary between Langley City, the Township, and Surrey. We'll tell you what your wall needs and handle the permit and engineering if it does.

How long does a retaining wall take to build?

It depends on the size, the stone, and the site access. A small garden wall can be a couple of days; a large engineered wall can run a week or more. We'll give you a realistic timeline when we quote.

Stone, brick, or block, which should I choose?

Natural stone and brick look the best and suit character and higher-end homes. Block and segmental walls are great for taller, engineered grades and modern lines. Boulders suit acreages and big slopes. We'll walk you through what fits your property.

Do you fix existing walls or only build new ones?

Both. We repair bowed, cracked, and leaning walls, repoint old mortar, and retrofit the drainage that was usually missing. If a wall's too far gone, we'll tell you honestly and rebuild it right.
